The Isle of Andros

 

Andros the northest and second largest island of the cyclades. An island to dream and to discover. The town Andros (Chora) with the excellent "Modern Art Museum" ( www.moca-andros.gr ) , the important Archaeological Museum, the square (Platia) "Kairi" (philosopher from Andros), stately mansions, the monument of the sailor and the ruins of the Venetian castle.

Paleopolis with the ancient port facility in the sea. The Cape Zagora with the well-preserved foundations of the geometric period, the Hellenistic  Tower at Agios Petros. The Water Mill and the old natural atone bridge in Aladino, the waterfall of Pithara, several Monasteries (Panochrantou, Agia Marina, Ag. Nikolaos) and a multitude of untouched, beautiful landscapes in all parts of the island.

Andros  is separated from Evia in the North by the Strait of "Cavo d'oro"  and in the South from the island Tinos by the Strait of "Narrow"

Andros is 39.8km long, 16,7km wide and has a total area of 374skm.

The unspoiled nature, the white wasehed cubic houses, the dove houses from the M.A., more than 70 beaches, Just a few of them are frequented by bathers The deep blue crystal clear water and much more.  The diversity of the shipowners-island is the ideal place for relaxing and diversified  holidays.
